Our Second YEF Golf Tournament was Super Successful
Our second York Education Foundation Golf Tournament at York Golf and Tennis Club was better than we could have imagined. Some of the aspects of the tournament remained the same, and a few things changed. Like last year, there were more than one hundred golfers enjoying the sunny October weather. This year, the wind helped make some holes more interesting than last year, but overall the scores were lower (maybe this was partially due to the addition of the Mulligan packages). And, just like the previous year, golfers were fed a delicious hot-off-the-grill lunch.
We again awarded prizes to the top three foursomes. The team from Agamenticus Plumbing finished in first place with a score of 52, surprising many of us by beating last year’s winners by a single stroke.

The Scoreboard:

We awarded prizes for Long drive and closest-to-the-pin.

The post-golf reception was held at Old Clubhouse. Hot and cold passed hors d’oeuvres , a charcuterie and cheese board, fruit and crudités were happily devoured by the golfers and other guests.
The silent auction featured fifty or so items including local gift cards and crafts, a turkey roaster, golf equipment and outings, a surveying package, and 6 day/5 night stay at the renowned Pinehurst #2 golf club.
Overall, the event raised more than $30,000 for next year’s grants!!
